Lenovo M8 HD shows signs of quality and greatness when you hold it in hands. We were unable to find any defects or large gaps in design, thanks to its all-glass front. On the rear side, there is an aluminium chassis that comes in Slate Grey colour. This is a modern look that you will not find on other affordable Android tablets.
The bezels around its display are thin on sides which ensure a bright visual experience. The top and bottom bezels are relatively thick and feature speaker grills. Also, there is a front-facing selfie camera on the top bezel. The left edge features pogo pins for charging dock connection whereas the right side has two mic holes, a volume button, and the power button.
Lenovo Tab M8 HD display
There is an 8-inch HD screen on the Tab M8 HD tab. The screen resolution on this IPS-equipped panel is 1280 x 800p with an average brightness of 344 nits. The contrast ratio of this display is 1805:1 which is quite impressive for such a tab, especially at this price.
Overall, we did not find the display impressive as it was a bit below HD quality. Although the colour combination and visuals were bright, we find the blues and reds a bit dull.
Hardware selection and performance
The processor on this 8-inch tablet is the Mediatek Helio A22 chipset. This is a mid-range chipset that is good for everyday tasks but cannot run heavy apps. The RAM on Lenovo M8 HD is 2GB that comes with the 32GB eMMC. Lenovo has loaded the integrated PowerVR GE8320 graphics which is an entry-level GPU.
The hardware selection on this Android tablet is basic that can only handle simple computing tasks. If you are looking for a laptop to run heavy games or more demanding software, this is not the tab for you.
Audio & Battery Performance
The speaker on this tablet emphasises on high frequencies and deliver high volume. This simply means that its sound quality is not good for media (audio and video) content. So, if you want to enjoy a better sound quality, use external headphones or speakers.
Lenovo Tab M8 HD features a 5100mAH battery which is more than enough considering its specs. We evaluated its battery endurance and were able to secure more than 18 hours of life with the Wi-Fi test. This is a long-lasting performance from an affordable Android tab.
Final Verdict
Lenovo Tab M8 HD is an entry-level tab with basic specs and decent battery performance. You can bag an affordable Android tablet under £150 in UK for everyday use. Use it for browsing, blogging, entertainment or buy it for at-home learning for your kids. At its price, Lenovo Tab M8 HD is a complete package for basic computing tasks.
