The world-renowned Chinese tech manufacturer, Huawei has made its mark with its unrivaled quality when it comes to cutting-edge mobile phones and smart tech. Equipped with the latest features and delivering decent performance to match its price, P30 Lite packs impressive power qualifying it for the best affordable smartphones. If you don’t want to splurge a massive amount of cash on a luxurious phone, Huawei P30 Lite offers the same experience at half the price. Let’s take a detailed look at what’s inside this magnificent mid-ranger.

Design
In terms of design, Huawei P30 Lite boasts a fancy exterior with a luxurious colour-gradient finish. The 3D curved glass rear is stunning to look at and comfortable to hold. Featuring those signature glossy aluminium slabs common with the P-series lineup, Huawei P30 Lite is a good-looking phone, just like its expensive siblings. However, it doesn’t include the in-screen fingerprint reader. Instead, there is a fingerprint reader placed in the back. The power and volume button are placed at the right edge while a USB Type-C port, speaker grill and a headphone jack sit at the bottom. This affordable phone is available in three colours; Blue, Black and White.
Unfortunately. P30 Lite doesn’t support dust or water resistance. To protect it against dust, water and short falls, you will have to use a screen protector.
Display
The 6.15″ multi-touch display with 2312 x 1080 resolution enables Huawei P30 Lite to offer the users an immersive entertainment experience. A tiny dewdrop notch sits in the top middle of the screen, while the surprisingly narrow bezels cling to the sides and bottom of the phone to give you a decent amount of space for videos, games and applications. P30 Lite, however, unlike its fancier family members, uses an LCD panel instead of the latest OLED tech. The good news is that the display has TÜV Rheinland Eye Comfort Certification and is easy on the eyes guaranteeing a comfortable viewing experience.
Performance & Battery
Huawei P30 Lite is fitted with Hisilicon Kirin 710 octa-core processor backed up by 4GB of RAM for remarkable responsiveness and 128GB of internal storage, which can be expanded with a microSD. While the phone’s performance is robust and snappy when it comes to browsing, switching between applications and watching multimedia, it is not quite suitable for gaming. Although it does play them at a decent frame rate, the GPU clearly seems to struggle. The battery is not as impressive as one might expect. Huawei P30 Lite survives for 10 hours which is a lot less than the rest of the phones in the P-series lineup.
Camera
While it may lack juice in a few areas, Huawei P30 Lite’s photographic capabilities are beyond impressive. It features a triple-camera arrangement on the rear like the regular Huawei P30. The main camera is a massive 24MP reinforced by an 8MP wide-angle lens and a 2MP depth-sensing unit to capture expansive landscapes and stunning portraits. The quality of the images taken is quite good and captures all the details, vibrant colours and very less visual noise in low-light environments.
Verdict
Huawei P30 Lite is the perfect mid-range phone packed with all the latest features you need in a smartphone. While you might have to compromise a little on the battery, its lavish looks, triple-camera technology, and robust performance check all the major checkboxes of what a smartphone should be like.
