Design
The Pixelbook Go has an elegant design that is eye-catching and infectious. This is a highly portable, lightweight laptop that weighs around two pounds and is only 13mm thin. Google has released this Pixelbook in two different colours names as “Not Pink” and “Just Black”.
Its magnesium alloy frame is painted in matte texture and to make it grabby, Google has introduced the rippled base. This unique design makes it easy for the user to grip the Pixelbook. We tested the frame for casual knocks and found it resistant to flex and pressure.
Display
The Pixelbook Go that we tested for its performance has a 13.3-inch FHD wide display with a 1920 x 1080 screen resolution. Google has utilized a 1080p touchscreen which you would expect in a laptop with a high price tag. The screen displayed vivid colours with accuracy and vibrancy when we streamed high-quality videos.
Thanks to Intel UHD 615 (IGP) graphics, you can also watch videos in 4K Molecular Display.
Keyboard
One of the best and main highlight features of the Pixelbook Go is its keyboard. This is a backlit keyboard with some improvements in its ‘Hush’ design and Google has brought back silent Pixelbook keys. This is a perfect combination of forceful feedback and silence that you would have ever experienced before.
Connectivity
Google has equipped the Pixelbook Go with two USB-C 3.1 ports and a 3.5mm audio jack. Although this is not an ideal port selection, the ports are enough if you consider the price and other features. the two USB-C 3.1 ports can handle both tasks, display output and charging.
Also, if we look at its specs, the Pixelbook Go is a mid-range laptop with high-end configurations. And the addition of Thunderbolt 3 ports is a big feature considering its price tag.
Performance
Google Pixelbook Go is equipped with an 8th generation I 5 processor that runs on the Chrome operating system. We tested the Pixelbook Go for causal office tasks and heavy software and ran some creative programs on it. The laptop delivers remarkable performance under pressure, while we opened multiple tabs including YouTube streaming.
The laptop can playback 1080p videos without stuttering and you could enjoy gaming as well. Moreover, the Pixelbook Go can run Android games that you could download directly from the Play Store.
Battery life
The Pixelbook Go features a powerful battery that can keep the screen alive for almost 12 hours. This simply means that you can accomplish tasks on the go without having battery anxiety. The fast charging features can top up the 2 hours battery time after just 20 minutes of charging.
