Huawei has built the GT2E with a combination of stainless steel and durable plastic material. Its face is covered with round-shape glass to offer a more seamless look. There are small markings around the rim like we have seen on its predecessor the GT 2, but these are more pleasing.
Huawei has also changed the round crowns on the GT 2e watch. It has two tapered-edged flat buttons that prevent mistouches and are more convenient to use. Overall, Huawei has moved away from the classic GT 2 look by adopting a modern style. We found the design modish and more suitable for younger and active millennials.
The biggest change that we observed was its strap that resembles the Apple Watch. Huawei has integrated the strap into the bottom and top of the watch body. This new strap design has made the Huawei GT 2e watch more snuggly and the Fluoro rubber straps bodes well for precise monitoring.
Plus, you can easily replace the straps on GT 2e, thanks to the pin mechanism. Huawei offers it in 4 modern colours and you could get the watch in Icy White, Graphite Black, Mint Green and Lava Red.
Huawei GT 2e is equipped with a stunning 1.39-inch AMOLED touchscreen and offers a crispy 454 x 454 resolution. We found the display bright, snappy and highly responsive to gestures. The watch display works well even under the direct sunlight and you can easily read time and data.
If you don’t like the black screen, he watch also comes with an always-on display feature. However, keeping this function on will reduce the battery timing of your watch.
Huawei GT 2e watch leads when it comes to tracking fitness activities. This smartwatch has the ability to tack anything from conventional activities like cycling, swimming and running to unconventional ones, such as belly dancing, skateboarding and parkour. It can track almost every physical activity with precise accuracy that you can perform.

This smartwatch can measure your workout intensity and after workout effects to offer batter analysis of your activities. Huawei GT 2e watch also keeps track of your sleep patterns, heart rate, daily stress levels, and number of steps that you take every day. What’s more interesting is that it organize the charts of all these activities for you to look upon later.
Another great feature of GT 2e is the SpO2 sensor, which informs about the oxygen level in your body. Moreover, the watch can help you find out the underlying health issues, such as sleep apnea.
Huawei GT 2e features Kirin A1 chip and runs on the LiteOS. Both the processor and operating system are built by Huawei for its smaller smart devices. Additionally, the watch comes with 16MB RAM and 4GB storage capacity, which is double than its predecessor. For a budget smartwatch, these are convincingly the best combination of specs.
Coming to its performance, Huawei has kept the smartwatch features to a minimum level on the GT 2e watch. Although the GPS feature is accurate and gives the precise location, the watch doesn’t offer maps for navigation. The storage capacity is enough to store around 500 songs that you can listen to using a Bluetooth hands-free.
We tested its agility and sturdiness by evaluating the Huawei GT 2e performance during indoor and outdoor activities. The smartwatch lived up to our expectations and also performed well underwater. We found it precisely active during workouts and for everyday health monitoring.
Huawei has equipped the GT 2e watch with the same 455mAh battery that it has used in the previous model. This is a good battery that can last for almost 2 weeks, but it heavily depends on how you use this smartwatch. If you use the always-on display feature with continuous music playback, GPS and heart-rate monitoring, Huawei GT 2e will stay alive for 6 to 8 days.
As a smartwatch, Huawei GT 2e is a decent device with plenty of features and solid performance. It works perfectly well as a fitness tracker and has more than 15 professional workout modes. As a health monitoring device, it goes head to head with premium watches in terms of accuracy in results. All in all, the GT 2e Huawei watch is the cheapest smartwatch that offers you everything.
